The Ucayali River Cacao co-op’s goal is to produce the finest quality cacao and improve the lives of the 400 farmers who grow it, moving them away from cocaine production and towards a legitimate income, well above market rate, from the cacao they grow instead. Ucayali River Cacao accomplishes this by handling the time-consuming duty of fermentation and drying the cacao, allowing farmers to focus on what they do best, improving the quality and quantity of their cacao crops.
